Let's be honest - every one of us has slept on an air bed at sometime, and in the past it was not always the pleasant experience it should have been! The 21st century air bed is something that takes modern technology in materials and pumps and brings to us a range of superb devices that are not only suitable for occasional use but are also extremely comfortable; some even use the modern memory foam technology that allows the mattress to 'remember' our shape and bring about a much more comfortable position, yet we were also surprised at how affordable these very modern and high quality items are. What we discovered was that this is a market where variety is all; we found air beds that are king size, queen size, twin and double, and we found some that were clearly intended for use in the outdoors - caravanning or camping, for instance - and others that had been designed for more regular permanent use. We also found some that pack away into the tiniest possible package - complete with their own carry bag - and could sit packed away in a cupboard, out of everyone's way, until they needed to be used.

We were also amazed by the technology involved: not only do some of these superb mattresses have incorporated and neatly hidden away pumps that can inflate the bed in amazing times - sometimes in as little as a minute - but they are designed to deflate equally quickly making packing up less of a chore and more of the work of a minute. In addition we found a number that included remote control units - if the bed is too firm simply press the button and release some air!
The world of aero airbed or air bed mattresses have clearly come a long way in recent years, and some of these creations are so comfortable that they could be used day in, day out, whatever you want one for we are sure this review will give you an idea of what is on offer.
